Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered black plastic with Walther banner logos at their tops. The grips have minor handling wear with some light scuffing and handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. The checkering is well defined. Overall, the grips are in Very Good-Plus condition.

Type of Finish: Military Blue

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is sharp. There is infrequent minor erosion and a little stubborn fouling in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 8 or 9 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 65% of its metal finish. The finish is thinning at all edges. The balance is mostly in scattered minor surface oxidation, more notable in the grip areas which have mostly gone to a light patina. There are a few light nicks and small scratches. The action shows light operational wear. The screw head is tool marked with a strong slot. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in about Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. This pistol has a de-cocker safety. We did not fire this handgun. As with all firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a brown leather flap-top holster and a total of two 8-round magazines, one commercial Walther and the other Mec-Gar.

Our Assessment: The Walther PP, or Polizei Pistole, was introduced in 1929 and found great success both commercially and with law enforcement agencies, with variants still in production today. This model PP was made in 1942 during WWII for Germany. It bears the WaA359 Waffenamt stamp, indicating inspection and acceptance by the Wehrmacht. The pistol is in about Very Good condition, showing finish wear consistent with its age, but retaining a good bore and strong mechanics. This will make a nice addition to a WWII Walther pistol collection. Please see our photos and good luck!
