Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “WINCHESTER–MODEL 94 30-30 WIN. / MADE IN NEW HAVEN CONN. U.S.A. WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL”. The right side of the barrel is marked “Wells Fargo & Co. 1852-1977”. The Winchester Proof is on top of the barrel. The serial number is found on the underside of the frame and both frame flats have been engraved and inscribed (see pictures). The upper tang is marked “MODEL 1894 / WINCHESTER”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade dovetailed to the front of the barrel. The rear sight is a “U”-notch elevator sight dovetailed to the back of the barrel. The left of the receiver is drilled, tapped and filled for a receiver sight (none present).
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with banded forend, straight grip, straight comb, blued steel carbine-style buttplate and Wells Fargo medallion inlaid to the right of the buttstock. The stocks have only a few scattered minor marks. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 1/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate has no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. Overall, the stocks are in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This gun retains about 99.9% of its metal finish. Some of the silver finish on the receiver has started to discolor, but should polish bright. There are some minor swirls in the silver finish and light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this gun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes in a Winchester Wells Fargo commemorative box with serial-matching label, an assortment of factory paperwork including manual and hang-tag. The tray portion of the styrofoam inserts has a loss at the muzzle-end, but the piece is included. The sleeve has light storage wear.
Our Assessment: This is a neat rifle and a neat commemorative. Wells Fargo and Winchester are two names that practically go hand-in-hand. You probably didn’t see a Wells Fargo coach without a Winchester onboard, so it stands to reason that these two are combined for one beautiful commemorative! This example is in Excellent condition and comes with its original box, so it will make a great addition for collectors. Please see our photos and good luck!
