Our Assessment: This is a Winchester 94 Trapper with a Centennial marking on the right side of the receiver to commemorate 100 years of the model 1894. The Winchester Model 1894 rifle is a lever-action repeating rifle that became one of the most famous and popular hunting rifles of all time. It was designed by John Browning in 1894 and originally chambered to fire two metallic black powder cartridges, the .32-40 Winchester and .38-55 Winchester. It was the first rifle to chamber the smokeless powder round, the .30 WCF in 1895. This rifle is chambered for 44 Remington Magnum and sports a 16” barrel and does not appear to have been shot much. The action is still stiff and the wood and finish are in Excellent condition. This rifle would make a great field gun which at fewer than 7 pounds would not tire your back or wear down your knees. In its high condition, it would also sit nicely in a collection. Please see our photos and good luck!
