Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “WINCHESTER MODEL 94AE CAL. .444 Marlin. / -MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL-”. The top of the barrel bears the Winchester proof mark. The bottom of the receiver is marked with the serial number to the left of the side plate.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a hooded beaded blade dovetailed to a riser that is screwed to the barrel (the hood has been removed). The rear sight is a folding u notch leaf with a white triangle aim reference and is adjustable for elevation. The rear of the receiver is mounted with a Wild West Guns fully adjustable aperture sight.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are checkered walnut with a banded forearm, straight grip, straight comb, and a rubber buttpad. The wood shows just a couple sparse little marks. The most notable damage is at the bottom of the stock and beginning of the buttpad, it appears to have been sanded. The checkering is mostly sharp. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13.75” from the front of the trigger to the back of the rubber buttpad, which shows sanding wear. The stocks rate in about Good overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. There is no corrosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 8/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish.The balance of the finish shows very faint operation wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are crisp. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
