Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade dovetailed into the barrel. The rear sight is a spring leaf U notch with elevator dovetailed into the barrel. The top of the receiver is drilled and tapped for a scope base.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with banded forend, straight grip, straight comb and an orange Winchester buttpad. The LOP is 13 1/2″ from trigger to buttpad. There is minor handling wear. There are no chips or cracks. Overall this stock is in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. There is some minor storage oil fouling. This rifle does not appear to have been fired past the factory. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10. 

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are scattered minor scratches on the receiver and barrel. The action shows light operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The trigger pull is crisp. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Winchester Model 94 XTR is a modern-production lever-action rifle manufactured between 1984–1997 and chambered in the less common 7×30 Waters cartridge. The rifle features a 24″ barrel, full-length tubular magazine, checkered walnut stocks, banded forend, straight grip, straight comb, and an orange Winchester buttpad. It retains a traditional sight setup with a blade front sight and adjustable U-notch rear sight, while the receiver is drilled and tapped for scope bases, providing additional versatility for optics mounting.

Condition is Excellent overall, with the rifle retaining approximately 98% of its original blued finish. The metal shows only scattered minor scratches on the receiver and barrel, along with light operational wear consistent with limited handling. The screw heads are sharp, and the markings remain clear and well-defined. The walnut stock set is also in Excellent condition, showing only minor handling wear with no chips or cracks, and presents cleanly as a lightly used or well-preserved example.

The bore is outstanding, remaining bright with sharp rifling, no erosion, and only minor storage oil fouling, rating 10/10 in this writer’s opinion and showing no indication of significant use beyond factory testing. Mechanically, the action functions correctly, and the trigger pull is crisp, though the rifle has not been test fired by us. As with any used firearm, a thorough cleaning and inspection are recommended before use. Overall, this is a highly attractive Winchester Model 94 XTR in the specialized 7×30 Waters chambering, offering excellent bore condition, near-new cosmetic presentation, factory box inclusion, and strong appeal for both collectors and shooters seeking an uncommon cartridge in a classic lever-action platform.
