Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish. There is edge wear on the receiver and lever, scattered light scratches and handling marks, and wear around the muzzle and barrel bands. The screw heads show light tool marks, and the principal markings remain legible. The rifle is in Very Good overall condition with refinished furniture and an added buttpad.

Our Assessment: The .25-35 WCF marking is the detail that gives this postwar Model 94 its historical focus. Winchester introduced the cartridge in the Model 1894 line in 1895, more than half a century before this carbine’s approximate 1949 manufacture. Here that early chambering appears in the familiar round-barrel carbine form, with barrel bands and a full-length magazine. It is a direct connection between the model’s beginnings and its later production.
The metal and wood tell different parts of this carbine’s condition story. About 95% of the original metal finish remains, accompanied by a bright, sharply rifled bore. The refinished stocks and added ventilated buttpad account for the more substantial departures from its original configuration. Those changes are easy to distinguish from the comparatively modest wear to the blued surfaces. The result is a .25-35 carbine with strong surviving metal finish and visibly updated furniture.
