Our Assessment: Winchester’s Model 70 is one of America’s most celebrated bolt-action sporting rifles, long known as the “Rifleman’s Rifle” and respected for its hunting pedigree, controlled round feed action, and classic field handling. The Super Grade represents the upscale sporting version of the Model 70, adding high gloss blue, refined metalwork, and upgraded walnut furniture. This 2010 example is chambered in .300 Winchester Magnum, a powerful, flat-shooting cartridge widely favored for long-range hunting and medium-to-large game such as deer, elk, and moose. This rifle features a 26″ barrel, matching serialized bolt, drilled and tapped receiver for optics, high-gloss blued finish, Grade V/VI satin walnut stock with shadowline cheekpiece, tipped forend, Decelerator buttpad, and free-floating barrel. The Super Grade trim, attractive walnut, excellent bore, original box package, and versatile magnum chambering should appeal to Winchester collectors and hunters looking for a refined, high quality big game rifle.
