Our Assessment: This is a vintage post-war Winchester Model 42 .410 bore pump-action shotgun from 1957. The Model 42 was the first pump shotgun specifically designed for the .410 chambering and resembles its larger cousin the Model 12. This example has seen some customization with a new blue finish, Simmons ventilated rib, and a new set of checkered walnut stocks installed. With its 26″ barrel choked Full, this will make a neat gun that will turn some heads on the clays field and would be a nice display in a Winchester collection missing a Model 42.
