Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “-NICKEL STEEL BARREL- / ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER” and at the rear with “WP” proof, and “.30 ARMY.”, the left side of the receiver is marked “MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO., NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A”/ PATENTED NOV. 5, 95. NOV.12, 95. AUG.17, 97.JAN.25, 98. AUG.23, 98. AUG.5, 1907.” The top of the receiver is marked “30 ARMY”, with the “WP” proof. The top tang is marked “MODEL 1895 -WINCHESTER – TRADE MARK REG. IN U.S. PAT. OFF.””. The bottom tang is marked with the serial number “107767”

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a brass blade pinned into a base fixed to the top of the barrel. The rear sight is a folding ladder-type sight screwed on the top of the barrel.
Stock Configuration & Condition: It is mounted with a smooth forearm with finger groove and an upper handguard, as well as a smooth straight grip stock with a trapdoor carbine buttplate. The wood has been refinished. There are some dings and a small chip repair on the buttstock. There are some other infrequent minor handling marks throughout. There are some dents on the forend. The LOP measures 12-7/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. Most of the finish is worn from the buttplate. Overall, the stocks are in about Fair condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is light gray and the rifling is well-defined. There is some erosion and light pitting in the bore. There is light fouling on the lands. Overall the bore rates 6/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its original metal finish. IT has the saddle ring on the left side of the receiver. There is some wear on the finish and handling marks about the metal, most notably on the lever and magazine. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in about Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The hammer has a half-cock safety, there is a tang-safety and the trigger pull is crisp. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
