Sights / Optics: The front sight is a red bead drilled and tapped into a serrated vent rib. There is a silver midbead drilled and tapped in the rib.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are a two piece checkered walnut, capped semi pistol grip, straight comb, and rubber Winchester recoil pad. The LOP is 14″ from trigger to the end of the recoil pad. There are light handling marks but no notable damage. Overall this stock rates in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. There is no erosion. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. There is light handling and operational wear but no major damage. Overall this shotgun is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Winchester Model 12 “Y Series” represents the final production chapter of one of the most iconic American pump action shotguns ever produced. Originally introduced as the Model 1912, the Model 12 remained in production for decades and earned a reputation for smooth operation, solid steel construction, and widespread use in hunting, competition, and law enforcement. The “Y Series” guns were produced during the final years of regular production in the early 1970s, making them a notable end-of-era example of this classic design. This shotgun features the traditional takedown configuration and a 30 inch vent rib barrel with fixed Full choke, retaining approximately 98 percent of its original blued finish with only light handling wear. Overall, it presents in Excellent condition.
Chambered for 2 3/4 inch 12 gauge shells, this Model 12 maintains the long barrel configuration favored for trap and field shooting. The serrated vent rib is fitted with a red front bead and silver mid bead, providing a clear sighting plane typical of trap oriented shotguns. The bore is bright with no visible erosion. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10 out of 10, indicating exceptional internal condition.
The two piece checkered walnut stock set features a semi pistol grip, straight comb, and Winchester rubber recoil pad with a 14 inch length of pull. The wood shows only light handling marks with no notable damage, rating in Excellent condition. Mechanically, the action cycles smoothly and functions correctly. This shotgun is accompanied by its original box. This Winchester Model 12 Y Series stands as a late production example of a legendary American pump shotgun in excellent overall condition.
