Markings: The left shoulder of the barrel is marked “WINCHESTER ®”, “Model 1873 – – Caliber 45 Colt ONLY”. There are “WP” Winchester proof marks on the left shoulder of the barrel and the top of the receiver. The right shoulder of the barrel is marked “Made by Miroku – Japan – – Imported by BACO, Inc.-Morgan, Utah / Winchester is a registered trademark of Olin Corporation”. The bottom of the receiver is marked with the serial number “00020YZ73R”. The upper tang is marked “WINCHESTER ®” / MODEL 1873”.
Barrel Length: 24″ Round
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a brass beaded blade dovetailed to the front of the barrel. The rear sight is a semi-buckhorn U-notch elevator sight dovetailed to the rear of the barrel. The tang is drilled, tapped, and filled for a tang sight (none present).
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two piece checkered deluxe grade 5 walnut with a semi-pistol grip, straight comb, capped forend, and a checkered shotgun style steel buttplate. The LOP measures about 13 1/4” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There is little to no handling wear. There are no chips or cracks. The stocks rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its original finish. The balance of the finish is strong and complete throughout. There is little to no operational or handling wear. The case color is vibrant. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Winchester Model 1873 is one of the most iconic American lever action designs, famously remembered as “The Gun That Won the West.” This modern Deluxe Rifle was manufactured by Miroku in Japan for Winchester and combines the classic profile of the original 1873 with modern fit, finish, and manufacturing quality. Chambered in .45 Colt, this rifle offers a popular revolver-caliber chambering with strong appeal for cowboy action shooters, lever action enthusiasts, and collectors of modern Winchester reproductions. Its 24” round barrel, full-length magazine tube, checkered walnut stocks, semi-pistol grip, case colored receiver, and shotgun-style steel buttplate give it a handsome upgraded configuration over the standard rifle.
This rifle is in Excellent overall condition, retaining about 99% of its original blued and case colored finish with little to no operational or handling wear. The case colors remain vibrant, the screw heads are sharp, and the markings are clear. The checkered walnut stocks show little to no handling wear, with no chips or cracks, and rate in Excellent condition. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no erosion, rating 10/10 in this writer’s opinion. The action functions correctly, and while we did not fire this rifle, it presents as a very clean Deluxe Winchester 1873 with excellent collector and shooter appeal.
