Our Assessment: This Winchester Miroku 1885 Low Wall rifle in .22LR is a beautifully crafted firearm that merges traditional design with modern artistry. Its 24.5″ half-octagon, half-round barrel strikes a balance between the visual appeal of the octagon style and the reduced weight of the round profile. Chambered in .22LR, this rifle is perfectly suited for small game hunting, target shooting, or plinking, offering both accuracy and low recoil. The action, based on John Browning’s timeless single-shot design, is known for its strength and reliability, making it a standout choice for precision shooting enthusiasts.
The high-grade checkered walnut furniture adds elegance and enhances grip, while the gold-inlaid receiver elevates the rifle to a true collector’s piece being 1/1,100 made. Engravings of rabbits on one side and squirrels on the other emphasize its role as a small-game rifle, adding a touch of artistic charm. Mounted with a Weaver scope, this rifle combines the aesthetic of a classic hunting firearm with the practicality of modern optics, making it equally at home in the field or on display as a cherished piece of fine craftsmanship.
