Our Assessment: The Winchester Model 101 XTR is a double-barrel shotgun that was produced by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company (Olin Kodensha in Tochigi, Japan) from the late 1970s through the 1990s. It was an upgraded version of the standard Model 101 shotgun and was designed with the competitive shooter in mind. The Winchester 101 features a high-gloss finish on the stock and receiver, and has a chrome lined barrel and top tang safety. The XTR model also has a special engraving pattern on the receiver and forend. Overall, the Winchester 101 XTR is a well-regarded shotgun that is known for its reliability and quality construction. It was popular among clay target shooters and hunters alike. This is a 28″ barrel example so it should make a good gun for upland birds or controlling the local varmint population. In Excellent condition, this shotgun has very light wear and still has bright bores and strong mechanics, indicating proper maintenance. Please see our photos and good luck in your bidding! J. Ren
