Sights / Optics: The front sight is a hooded beaded blade in a ramped mount fixed to the barrel above the muzzle. The rear sight is a U-notch with a white triangular reference in an elevator sight dovetailed to the top rear of the barrel.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut featuring a barrel band, a straight grip, a straight comb and a black polymer buttplate. The wood shows a few minor compressions on the right side of the forend and a few faint handling and storage marks. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 5/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stocks are in Fine Plus overall condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion and for the age, this bore rates a 9 or 10 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows no notable wear or damage, just some light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with the original shipping cardboard box, the Winchester serial-matched cardboard box with outer sleeve, an instruction manual with factory handouts and a locking device with keys.
Our Assessment: During the Winchester Model 9422’s 33-year production run—from 1972 through 2005—the well-built and extremely accurate .22 rimfire lever-action embodied our ongoing admiration for the American West and filled the need for an economical look-alike of its big-bore Model 94 counterpart. It’s unsurprising then that the 9422 became one of the most popular rifles in Winchester’s lineup. This rifle is a High Grade Tribute model with a “Model 9422 Tribute” on the left of the receiver, a mounted rider on the right. Aptly, there were 9,422 tribute rifles manufactured. This is an ideal choice for those new to shooting, or for parents that want their children to begin taking the responsibility of being a shooter or as a collectors piece.
