Sights / Optics: There is a front sight dovetail base mounted on this rifle. There is a rear sight dovetail block. There are drilled and tapped holes for another. The receiver is dovetailed for 3/8″ sights or scope bases.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is textured one piece walnut, accessory rail inlet into the bottom of the forend, pistol grip, raised wrap over comb, with adjustable rubber buttpad. The LOP is 13 1/2″ from trigger to buttpad. There are scratches and handling marks throughout. There are some light nicks and chips on the front of the comb. There are no cracks. Overall this stock is in Good to Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. The rifling is sharp. There is no erosion. There is light fouling. In this writer’s opinion this bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its original finish. There are light scratches and corrosion freckling throughout. There is handling and operational wear. The screw heads are tooled but serviceable. The markings are clear. Overall this rifle is in Good to Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The J.G. Anschütz Match 54 is one of the world’s premier bolt-action target rifles, renowned for its superb accuracy, precision machining, and exceptional trigger system. This 1972 West German example is chambered in .22 LR and features a 27″ heavy target barrel, single-shot action, receiver dovetail for target sights or scope bases, and a competition-style walnut stock with accessory rail, wrapover comb, and adjustable buttpad. Accompanied by its factory manual and original factory test target, it represents a well-equipped example of one of the finest rimfire target rifles ever produced.
The Match 54 action established Anschütz as a dominant force in international smallbore competition, becoming the preferred platform for Olympic, World Championship, collegiate, and club-level shooters.
