Caliber: .300 Weatherby Magnum

Action Type: Bolt Action, Internal Magazine, Hinged Floorplate.

Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “USE ONLY / 300 WBY MAG”. The left side of the receiver is marked with Weatherby’s “W” logo and “WEATHERBY / PASO ROBLES, CA / MARK V / MADE IN USA”. The right side of the receiver is marked with the serial number.

Barrel Length: 26″

Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. The top of the receiver is mounted with a Sig Sauer Tango4 4-16×4 scope, with an illuminated MOA Milling reticle. The glass in the scope is clear, and the illuminated reticle functions properly. The scope shows light wear, with a couple light scratches in the scope’s finish. Overall, the scope rates in Very Good condition.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece walnut stock, with a capped semi-pistol grip, fluted monte carlo comb with cheekpiece, brown rubber Decelerator buttpad, a capped forend, and sling studs front and rear. The wrist, forend, and left side of the buttstock are factory laser engraved with oak leaves and acorn motifs. The LOP measures 13 1/2″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows light wear, with a few light scratches and dings scattered throughout. The factory laser engraving on the stock is well defined. The gloss finish is largely intact, and the wood grain is attractive. There is a small chip on the left side of the stock, just under the receiver where its marked “MARK V / MADE IN USA”. The chip has been repaired by being glued back onto the stock. The stock fits tightly to the barreled action, with no play. There are no structurally compromising chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Good to Very Good condition, mainly due to the amateurly repaired stock chip as mentioned above.

Type of Finish: Blued

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light handling wear, with a few minor hairline scratches on the trigger guard and minor operational wear on the bolt body. The bluing is deep and dark throughout. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with the scope as mentioned above, as well as its owner’s manual.

Our Assessment: The Weatherby Mark V Lasermark represents a modern expression of Roy Weatherby’s vision of power, precision, and distinctive style. Built around the legendary Mark V action, known for its nine-lug bolt and smooth, secure lockup in magnum chamberings, the Lasermark pairs high-performance engineering with decorative flair. Chambered in .300 Weatherby Magnum, one of the flagship Weatherby cartridges introduced in 1944, this rifle delivers flat trajectory and substantial energy for long-range big game hunting. The Lasermark series adds factory laser-engraved oak leaf and acorn motifs to the walnut stock, giving the rifle a refined yet unmistakably Weatherby presence.

This example retains approximately 98 percent of its original metal finish, with only light handling marks and minor operational wear on the bolt body. The 26 inch barrel shows a bright bore with sharp rifling, rating 10 out of 10 in this writer’s opinion. The gloss walnut stock remains attractive with well-defined laser engraving, though there is a small chip beneath the receiver that has been repaired. The action functions correctly, and the included Sig Sauer Tango4 4-16x scope with illuminated MOA Milling reticle enhances its long-range capability.
