The grips are marked “WALTHER”. The right side of the slide is marked “INTERARMS / ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA”. The barrel has the proof mark “VA”. The right side of the frame is also marked with the serial number.

Sights/ Optics: The front sight is a fixed blade integral to the slide with an orange dot at the muzzle. The rear sight is a dovetailed square notch. There is a square aim guide on the rear sight that has lost its orange paint. The slide is also serrated to reduce glare.

Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The grips are two piece black checkered plastic panels. The grips have scattered light scratches and nicks along the smooth borders, more notable on the left panel. The right panel has a few individually nicked checkers but the checkering remains sharp throughout. Overall the grips are in Very Good-Plus condition.

Type of Finish: Stainless

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. The rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.

Overall Condition: The pistol retains about 96% of its finish. There are scattered faint nicks and scratches that are most noticeable on the chamber, throughout the slide, and on the grip straps. The red paint on the safety has faded completely. The markings are clear. The grip screw and slide serrations remain sharp. Overall this pistol is in Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The slide has barely perceptible play to the frame. The safety acts as a decocker. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box Paperwork and Accessories: This pistol comes in a black walther hard case with one 7-round magazine with a pinky extension. The end label has ripped and the ripped portion is included in the box.

Our Assessment:  “PPK” is an abbreviation for Polizeipistole Kriminal (literally “police pistol criminal”), referring to the Kriminalamt crime investigation office. While the K is often mistakenly assumed to stand for kurz (German for “short”), as the variant has a shorter barrel and frame, Walther used the name “Kriminal” in early advertising brochures and the 1937 GECO German catalog. The Walther PPK is a well designed handgun. The PPK/S was, for all intents and purposes, the same as the PPK, only with nominal dimensional differences and that the magazine held an additional round. This PPK/S was produced under contract by Interarms in Virginia for Walther in 1994 and is chambered for .380 ACP. It retains about 96% original finish and is in Fine-Plus condition. Please see our photos and good luck!
