Action Type: Single-Action Revolver with 6-Round Side-Loaded Cylinder

Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “MOD. 1873 CAL.357 MAG.” The top of the barrel is marked “TAYLOR’S & CO. WINCHESTER VA-A. UBERTI ITALY”. The left side of the frame is marked “PAT. SEPT. 19. 1871 / PAT. JULY 2. 1872”. The front of the frame has the Uberti logo and is marked “1521”.  The bottom of the frame features the serial number “UE1976” and the date code “CS”. The metal parts feature full scroll floral laser engravings. The rear end of the cylinder is marked “9”, “7”, “6” and features Italian proofs.

Barrel Length: 4.75”

Sights/ Optics: The front sight is a blade fixed to the muzzle end of the barrel. The rear sight is a square notch integral to the rear end of the top-strap.

Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The grip is one-piece smooth wood. There are some handling marks and small scratches on the grip. There are no chips or cracks. The grip is in Fine overall condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. The rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: The revolver retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are some handling marks, light nicks and scratches. Notably there is a patch of oxidation on the trigger guard and one on the butt-strap. The markings remain clear. The screwheads are serviceable. Overall, the revolver is in Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The single action trigger is crisp. The cylinder locks with only barely perceptible play on each chamber. The revolver has three clicks. We did not fire this pistol. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Uberti reproduction of the Colt model 1873 is a single-action revolver that takes .357 Magnum rounds. The revolver has a striking bright steel finish with full scroll floral laser engravings and it remains mechanically sound. This revolver is an impressive showing from Uberti’s lineup that you do not want to miss out on!
