Markings: The right side of the frame is marked “UNITED STATES PROPERTY / No.863848 / M1911A1 U.S. ARMY” along with the Ordnance Dept. logo and a “65” on the right side trigger guard. The left side of the frame is marked “GHD / P” on the left side of the trigger guard and the Colt Verified proof on the left side of the trigger guard. The left side of the slide is marked “PATENTED APR.20,1897-SEPT.9,1902 DEC.19,1905-FEB.14,1911 AUG.19,1913 / COLT’S PT.F.A.MFG.CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.” The the barrel bottom is marked “G / Colt 45 Auto”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a small blade with yellow paint that is fixed to the slide. The rear sight is a flat top u-notch that is dovetailed to the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered polymer grips. The grips show handling wear. The checkering is mostly sharp. There are no chips or cracks. The back strap is checkered. The grips are in Good condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is well defined. There is no erosion in the bore. There is fouling in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, this bore rates at 7.5/10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 90% of its metal finish. There are nicks and scratches. There is finish loss on the leading edges. The trigger and backstrap finish is lightly worn. Overall this pistol rates at a Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
