Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “THOMAS HORSLEY & SON MAKERS YORK”. The upper tang is marked “T.HORSLEY & SON”. The right side of the chamber is marked “300”. The bottom tang is marked “3407”.
Barrel Length: 28” Octagonal
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a short beaded blade dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is a fixed v notch dovetailed to the barrel with a flip up leaf for elevation adjustment.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is two piece checkered walnut with round bottom semi-pistol grip, straight comb, and serrated rear of the buttstock. The LOP measures 14 5/8” from the front trigger to the back of the buttstock. The stocks rate in about Excellent overall condition.There are no chips or cracks. The checking is crisp and attractive with minor handling wear. Very few of the checkers have been compressed.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp and deep. There is erosion throughout. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 6/10 for Antique
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows no wear post being refinished. The receiver has been engraved. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition for Antique.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet all your maintenance standards.
