Our Assessment: This Carcano M91/38 rifle, marked “TERNI” and “1941 XIX,” originates from the Terni Arsenal during World War II. Chambered in 6.5x52mm Carcano, this rifle was designed to be lighter and more compact than earlier models, making it ideal for Italy’s infantry during the war. The “1941 XIX” marking confirms its manufacture date as 1941, during the 19th year of Mussolini’s Fascist regime, adding to its historical significance.
