Built for competitive shooting, the Model 206 was engineered with an emphasis on accuracy, balance, and refined trigger control, making it a favored platform among serious marksmen during its era. Chambered in .22 Long Rifle, a cartridge long associated with target shooting due to its minimal recoil and inherent accuracy, the pistol exemplifies the precision-focused philosophy that defined Hammerli’s reputation in international competition. This example features an 8 1/4-inch ported barrel, contributing to reduced muzzle rise and improved shot-to-shot recovery, along with fully adjustable target sights that allow for precise sight alignment. The pistol retains approximately 98% of its original blued finish, presenting with only light handling marks and minor edge wear consistent with careful use. The bore is strong, with bright surfaces and sharp rifling, supporting the pistol’s intended role as a precision instrument. The extended checkered wood grips remain in excellent condition, providing both ergonomic support and stability, while the included magazines enhance the pistol’s usability.
Altogether, this Hammerli Model 206 American stands as a refined example of Swiss craftsmanship in a dedicated target pistol platform. Its combination of precision engineering, high-quality materials, and excellent overall condition reflects the standards that made Hammerli a benchmark in competitive shooting circles.
