Our Assessment: This Swedish Mauser Model 1894/14 Carbine was produced in 1918 by Carl Gustafs in Sweden. It is basically a standard Model 1894 Carbine that accepts a bayonet. The Model 1894 Carbine originally did not mount a bayonet. The 1894/14 variant has a nose cap that allows the bayonet to be mounted with a bayonet lug. This Model 1894 has been rebuilt and still has nice markings on the metal parts.
This Swedish Mauser Carbine is over 100 years old and can still do lots of work out at the range. For more information and photos see pages 326 and 327 of Joe Puleo’s, “Bolt Action Military Rifles of the World. Good luck.
