Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade insert into a base integral to the forend cap. The rear sight is a folding adjustable U notch dovetailed into a base soldered to the barrel. The receiver is dovetailed for Ruger proprietary mounts. There is a Redfield Tracker 3-9×40 with duplex reticle installed on this rifle. We cannot guarantee optics. 

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is one piece checkered walnut mannlicher style, capped forend, capped semi pistol grip, straight comb, with rubber buttpad. The LOP is 13 1/2″ from trigger to buttpad. There is light handling wear. There are a few scratches and compression dents throughout. There are no chips or cracks. Overall this stock is in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. The rifling is sharp. There is no erosion. There is light fouling. In this writer’s opinion this bore rates 9.5/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its original finish. There is light handling and operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall this rifle is in Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Ruger Model 77 MKII RSI is a compact full-stock sporting rifle that combines the robust Model 77 action with classic Mannlicher styling. This 2000 example is chambered in .30-06 Springfield and features an 18 1/2″ barrel, internal box magazine, factory iron sights, proprietary Ruger scope mounting system, and a Redfield Tracker 3-9×40 scope with duplex reticle. Its full-length checkered walnut stock and short barrel give it distinctive European-inspired lines and quick handling in the field.

The Model 77 MKII continued Ruger’s development of its controlled-round-feed bolt-action rifle, incorporating a large claw extractor, fixed blade ejector, and three-position safety. The RSI configuration paired these mechanical features with a full-length Mannlicher stock and abbreviated barrel, creating a handy sporting rifle well suited for timber, mountain country, and other situations where portability matters.
