Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed into a base integral to the barrel band. The rear sight is an adjustable folding leaf dovetailed into the barrel. The barrel and receiver are drilled and tapped for a scope base.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one piece smooth walnut, banded forend, semi pistol grip, straight comb, and plastic buttplate. The LOP is 13 1/2″ from trigger to buttplate. There is light handling and box wear. There are no chips or cracks. Overall this stock is in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. The rifling is sharp. There is no erosion. There are a few small spots of corrosion pitting. In this writer’s opinion this bore rates 8/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its original finish. There is some light handling and operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall this rifle is in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Sturm Ruger 25th Anniversary .44 Carbine, manufactured in 1985, is a desirable commemorative-era example of Ruger’s semi-automatic .44 Magnum carbine. It features an 18 1/2″ barrel, gas-piston operation, tubular magazine, traditional open sights, and factory drilling and tapping on the barrel and receiver for scope mounting. The rifle retains about 95% of its original blued finish, with only light handling and operational wear noted. The markings remain clear, the screw heads are sharp, and the included box adds meaningful collector appeal.
The bore is generally strong, described as bright with sharp rifling and no erosion, though the presence of a few small spots of corrosion pitting is a notable consideration. In the writer’s opinion, the bore rates 8/10, which is serviceable but below the otherwise high cosmetic condition of the rifle. Mechanically, the action functions correctly, though the rifle has not been test fired. Given the bore note and the semi-automatic gas system, a thorough cleaning and inspection would be prudent before regular use.
The smooth walnut stock is in Excellent condition, showing only light handling and box wear with no chips or cracks. Its banded forend, semi-pistol grip, straight comb, and plastic buttplate are consistent with the classic Ruger .44 Carbine configuration. Overall, this is a clean, original 1985 Ruger .44 Carbine with strong exterior condition, excellent stock condition, proper mechanics, and added desirability from the box, with the primary detractor being the small areas of bore pitting.
