Our Assessment: This standard Products M1 Carbine was made between July to September 1943. After WWII the carbine served in a U.S. friendly country (most likely South Korea, based on the import mark) and eventually imported back into the U.S. for sale to the civilian market. This M1 carbine has been rebuilt with much new old updated USGI parts so it looks good, functions well, and still has nice markings. This firearm is a collector piece and it will add to any Military or WWII, Korea or Vietnam collection, but also serve well at the range, for hunting small game, as well as personal defense. Standard Production manufactured approximately 4.4%, or 247,160 M1 Carbines compared to the overall total of 5,551,311 M1 carbines produced by 10 Contractors. However, this carbine is NOT a safe queen never to be truly enjoyed to the fullest. This beautiful firearm is also a shooter; one that can be used for plinking, training, competition, hunting, and self defense. This firearm qualifies for use in CMP Organization M1 Competitions.
