Our Assessment: This Ruger GP100 is a modern stainless double-action revolver chambered in the excellent .327 Federal Magnum cartridge. The GP100 has long been one of Ruger’s strongest and most respected medium-frame revolver designs, known for its rugged construction, triple-locking cylinder, and practical handling characteristics. Chambered in .327 Federal Magnum, this 7-shot revolver offers magnum-level performance with less recoil than many larger-bore revolver cartridges, while also allowing the use of compatible lower-powered .32-caliber revolver loads. With its satin stainless finish, adjustable sights, full-underlug barrel, and 7-shot capacity, this GP100 is a versatile revolver well suited for range use, field carry, or defensive applications. This example remains in Excellent to Like-New condition, retaining approximately 99%+ of its satin stainless finish. The cylinder shows only a faint scattered turn line, the markings remain clear, the pins are unmarred, and the screw heads are sharp. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, no visible erosion, and only light factory chatter marks, rating 10/10 and appearing unfired outside of factory testing. The fitted one-piece checkered rosewood grip is not original to this revolver, but it presents beautifully with only a few light scratches and no chips or cracks. The revolver includes its original Ruger hard case, paperwork, lock, and grip pin.
For Ruger collectors and revolver shooters, this GP100 offers a particularly appealing chambering in a high-condition stainless package. The .327 Federal Magnum provides impressive velocity, flat trajectory, and excellent versatility, especially in a 7-shot GP100 platform. Its excellent condition, desirable chambering, adjustable sights, and included factory case make it a strong choice for anyone seeking a modern Ruger revolver with more capacity and less recoil than traditional magnum wheelguns. -R.E.
