Sights / Optics: The front sight is a Trijicon H3 Tritium insert blade with protective wings and the rear sight is a fully adjustable enlarged Ghost Ring aperture sight. The tritium is depleted. The rifle also has the quad rail forend with 12.5″ picatinny rail for mounting optics and accessories.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture set on this rifle includes the Vltor Quad rail forend with rails mounted at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions for mounting optics and accessories. The stock itself is an Urban camo fiberglass textured stock with semi-pistol grip, straight comb, rear sling swivel, and hinged metal butt plate with storage compartment. The length of pull is 13″ and the rifle weighs 10lbs 4oz. The quad rail shows some surface level lines in the finish and some marks from where accessories were previously mounted. The stock itself shows no notable marks or marrs. The butt plate functions correctly. Overall the furniture set is in Very Good+-Excellent condition.
Magazine Quantity & Condition: This rifle includes three x stainless Check-Mate 20 round magazines in Excellent condition and one Springfield 10 round magazine in Excellent condition. Four magazines total.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion or pitting in the bore. The feed ramps are smooth and shiny. The muzzle device shows some verdigris in the ports and some minor carbon fouling. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9.75/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains 98% of its metal finish. The friction surfaces of the bolt and receiver show some very minor rub wear. There is some verdigris in the recesses of the exterior of the gas system. There is also some minor carbon fouling present near the gas piston. The forward edge of the compensator shows some minor thinning in the finish. The markings are clear and the screw heads are sharp. Overall this rifle is in Very Good+-Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: This Springfield Armory SOCOM II M1A, model AA9628, was manufactured in 2007 and is chambered in .308 Winchester, featuring a 16-inch barrel with the factory compensator. As part of the M1A family derived from the U.S. military M14 platform, the SOCOM II variant was designed to offer a compact, hard-hitting rifle optimized for close to intermediate range use.
This example is equipped with the distinctive quad rail system manufactured by VLTOR, and finished in the factory Urban Camo pattern. The VLTOR rail system provides extensive mounting space for optics and accessories and is a defining feature of the SOCOM II, contributing to its robust and tactical profile.
