Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade sight dovetailed into a post fixed onto the barrel with a protective hood. The rear sight is an adjustable Ladder sight. The ladder is tight and in Very Good Condition.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a smooth walnut stock with straight grip, forend, straight comb, steel barrel band, 3 sling studs with rings mounted on the forend cap, barrel band, and the belly of the buttstock with a leather sling and steel buttplate. The LOP is 12 ¾” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There are some light scratches in the wood. There are no chips or cracks. The stock rates in Very Good Overall Condition.

Bore Condition: The Bore is bright and the Rifling is sharp. There is some very light erosion in the barrel. The bore rates in Very Good Condition.

Overall Condition:. This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are some very light scratches on the receiver and barrel. The screws are sharp. The pins are unmarred. The markings are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good condition

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: This Springfield Armory 1903 Mark I is in Very Good condition. The finish on the wood and metal are in Very good condition, the action is smooth and lockup is tight. This is a collectors dream rifle. We rarely see WW1 era rifles in this good condition like this one. This is a must have for any collection! Good luck on your bid!
