Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The lockup produces light side-to-side movement. The double-action is smooth and the single action is crisp. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a serial matching Smith & Wesson box, cleaning kit, and paperwork (no manual).

Our Assessment: The Model 66 is, essentially, a stainless steel version of the model 19. This example, with its pinned 4″ barrel and adjustable sights, gives the Model 19’s balance of size, precision, and power and also makes it more corrosion resistant and appealing to those who prefer the look of stainless steel. This one has seen light use, has a great bore and mechanics, and comes with nice Goncalo Alves target stocks. While the serial number corresponds to 1974 but this model has the early stainless sights. The parts likely sat in inventory until 1974 and got installed on this revolver. No matter the case, this one is sharp looking and with its included accessories is likely to join a growing collection of Smith & Wessons. Please see our photos and good luck!
