Our Assessment: As the name implies, the Distinguished Combat Magnum is a remarkable piece of machinery that is tough enough for any application; this pistol rates an Excellent condition; it retains 99% of its nickel finish, the bore is bright with sharp rifling and the action has no play in full lockup. If you have a lever rifle in .38 or .357, this would be a great addition to the family; if you are looking for a proven defensive pistol that has been used by professionals in combat revolver matches for decades, this is also a smart choice. The 4″ barrel here is a compromise between concealability and increased muzzle velocity imparted by a longer barrel. This revolver would be a great addition to a Smith & Wesson collection, barbecue gun, or a target / defensive revolver. Please see our photos and good luck on your bid! – C.B.
