Sights / Optics: The front sight is a white-dot blade dovetailed to the front of the slide. The rear sight is a Novak LoMount square notch with two white dots dovetailed and screw-set to the rear of the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is one-piece checkered black plastic with S&W logos on each side which wraps around the backstrap. The grip has some light nicks, scuffs and scratches. The checkering is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in Very Good-plus condition.
Type of Finish: Stainless & Alloy
Finish Originality: Original, assembly numbers match.
Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore, but there is a some stubborn fouling. In this writers opinion, this bore rates 8+out of 10.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 96% of its metal finish. There are some tiny spots of minor oxidation along the top of the slide. There are a few scattered light marks. The action shows light operational wear. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a total of two 8-round magazines.
Our Assessment: Part of the Tactical Smith & Wesson line, the 4563TSW is a single/double action, single-stack, semi-automatic .45 ACP with a decocker safety. Up to this point, it is very familiar to the usual Smith & Wesson line, but the TSW series had slides and frames machined specifically to fit each other, marked with assembly numbers, and an accessory rail mounted to the dust cover. The 4563 has a lightweight alloy frame and a mid-length 4 1/4″ barrel. The result is a versatile pistol which is powerful and comfortable. Only made from 2000-2006, this 4563TSW is equally suited to being a carry gun or addition to a collection. Please see our photos and good luck!
