Action Type: 6 Shot SA/DA Revolver with Swing-Out Cylinder and hand ejector.
Markings: The left of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON”, the right is marked “.44 MAGNUM.”. The sideplate is marked with the S&W monogram logo and the right of the frame is marked with the four-line marcas registradas address. The crane-cut is marked with the model and serial number, the butt of the grip frame is marked with the serial number “N22298”.
Barrel Length: 6.5? Pinned.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramped blade W/ red insert pinned to the rib. The rear has a square notch adjustable sight.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece smooth rosewood with S&W medallions. The left side is missing.. There are scratches and pressure dents throughout. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in about Very Good condition.
Type of Finish: Stainless.
Finish Originality: Original.
Bore Condition: The bore is very bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates at an 9.5/10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are scratches and scuffs throughout. The front of the cylinder is blackened. The screwheads are lightly tooled. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder lockup shows light play with the trigger depressed. The double-action trigger is smooth and the single-action trigger is crisp. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

This particular Model 29-2 has a stainless steel finish with a 6.5” barrel and smooth rosewood target grips. The trigger and hammer are the older style stainless instead of case hardened.
