Action Type: 6-Shot, Single/Double Action Revolver, Swing-Out Fluted Cylinder with Ejector Designed for the use of Moon Clips.

Markings: The yoke cut is marked “DBBMADE 6394 22-4”. The butt of the grip frame is marked “DBB6394”. The Crane is marked “797”. The right side of the frame is marked with the S&W monogram logo and “MARCAS REGISTRADAS SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS. IN U.S.A.” The right side of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON”. The left side of the barrel is marked “45 CAL. MODEL 1950”. Both grips are marked with the Smith and Wesson monogram logo.

Barrel Length: 4? With underlug.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a smooth half moon rounded blade pinned on an elevated portion at the front of the barrel. The rear sight is a blued steel rectangular groove sight machined into the top of the frame.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece wood grips with checkering, and embedded Smith and wesson Logos. The checkering is mostly sharp and clean with only a few small sections where the checkering has begun to dull. The enamel finish has begun to peel back in two small sections on the right side grip panel and on two sections of the left side panel. The right side panel also contains a small depression on the base about a quarter of an inch back from the front strap. The left side panel has an impact mark about midway on the base of the grip. Overall the grips are in Very Good condition. The trigger and hammer are both raw metal with minor handling wear but no signs of rust or oxidation. The Cylinder release is curved and checkered, the checkering is sharp and clean. This model includes a built in lock in the frame.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore with only minor lead fouling in the grooves. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9/10.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are some very small draglines and handling wear. The cylinder has a very fine but visible turn line. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The double-action trigger is smooth and the single action is crisp. The cylinder lockup has only minor side-to-side play on all chambers. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
