Our Assessment: The S&W Model 625 is a gun with an interesting, if confusing, history. There was never a 625 no dash, nor have any 625-1s been seen with the first revolvers being model 625-2. The early production guns have been seen marked both “Model of 1988” and “Model of 1989”. Just a year into production, the cylinder stop notches were enlarged on the 625-3. This example is another beast, altogether. Produced by the Smith & Wesson Performance Center, this is a 625-8 .45 ACP revolver. The bore is strong and the mechanics live up to Performance Center’s reputation.  Please see our photos and good luck! – L.S.
