Markings: The top of the barrel rib is marked with the Standard Springfield Address. The right side of the barrel is marked “*22 LONG RIFLE CTG*”. The left side of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON”. The underside of the barrel latch is marked “10865”. The left side of the frame is marked with an S&W monogram logo and “MADE IN U.S.A.”. The front strap is marked “10865”.
Barrel Length: 7”
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a MARBLE beaded blade pinned to the barrel rib. The rear sight is a square flat top u-notch that is integral to the barrel latch.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two piece checkered wood extension target stocks with smooth borders, two screws, and smooth diamonds around the grip screws. There are a few scattered light marks and compression lines. There are some marks on the bottom edges with heavier nicks. Overall, the grips are in about Fine condition as C&R. There are no chips or cracks.
Type of Finish: Blued, Case Hardened trigger and hammer.
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is some minor fouling in the grooves with very faint erosion that’s hardly visible. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9/10 for C&R
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 70% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows honest aging with thinning at the leading edges, areas that have gone to patina. There is light operation wear. Both sides of the barrel, particularly on the left side, have some rub wear and oxidation present where the finish has been worn away. There are other very faint and thin scratches on the barrel exterior and frame. The pinheads are unmarred. The screw heads are sharp to tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, the pistol is in about Fine condition as C&R.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
