There is an intermittent light turn line. The trigger has serrations on it and the hammer knurling is still very sharp. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly with a very small amount of side-to-side play in lockup. This pistol has excellent lock up and an extremely crisp, smooth, trigger pull and action especially in single action. The cylinder is slightly gummy when turning.  We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment:  This gun is just about perfect. The only thing I see wrong is a light turn line. It seems to be little more than factory-fired in this writer’s opinion. The Smith & Wesson Model 28 No Dash, also known as the “Highway Patrolman,” is a classic revolver that offers robust construction, reliability, and powerful performance. Introduced in the 1950s, it was designed to provide law enforcement officers with a durable and cost-effective alternative to the more expensive Model 27 revolver. One of the distinguishing features of the Model 28 is its rugged construction. It features a solid carbon steel frame and barrel, providing durability and longevity. The revolver’s large N-frame design contributes to its substantial weight, helping to mitigate recoil and enhance shooting comfort. The Model 28 features a six-round capacity, with a traditional double-action/single-action (DA/SA) trigger mechanism. The revolver also has a pinned barrel and a serrated ramp front sight, along with a micro-adjustable rear sight, allowing for precise aiming and target acquisition.

Overall, this Smith & Wesson Model 28 is in outstanding condition and is as “Like New ” as any collector could ask for; the design itself is a reliable revolver that has stood the test of time. It offers shooters a combination of rugged reliability, powerful performance, and classic styling, making it a favorite among law enforcement professionals, collectors, and enthusiasts alike. Enjoy the auction and good luck.- K.F.
