Sights / Optics: The front sight is a simple blade, and there is no rear sight, as is typical of fusil designs meant for smoothbore versatility.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is crafted in the traditional fusil style, exhibiting graceful lines and proper proportions for a flintlock of this type. The wood has some handling marks but remains structurally solid, with no cracks or significant damage. The opposite side of the lock features a dragon motif, adding an artistic and historical touch to the rifle’s appearance. The stock rates in very good condition overall.

Type of Finish: The barrel retains approximately 70% of its original finish, with areas turning white, particularly along exposed surfaces. The lock, barrel, and furniture have developed an aged appearance, complementing the rifle’s historical aesthetic.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is gray with light fouling but no corrosion. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 7/10.

Overall Condition: This fusil retains about 70% of its original finish, with areas of thinning and patina forming on the barrel, which is beginning to turn white. The lock and barrel markings are sharp, and the decorative dragon motif opposite the lock remains well-defined. The screw heads and metal components are serviceable, with no excessive wear. Overall, this rifle rates in very good condition for a modern flintlock reproduction with an antique-style build.

Mechanics: The flintlock functions properly, sparking as intended when tested. The hammer and frizzen engage securely, and the trigger pull is crisp. The lock-up and overall mechanics appear solid. We did not fire this rifle. As with all black powder firearms, a thorough inspection and cleaning may be necessary before use.
