Markings: The tang is marked “1533B”.The top of the barrel is marked “Shiloh-Sharps Model 1874” and “CALIBRE 45  /  21/10”. The left side of the receiver is marked “SHILOH RIFLE MFG. CO. BIG TIMBER, MONTANA.”.

Barrel Length: 22” Round “Light” Profile barrel.

Sights / Optics: This rifle is mounted with a blade front sight. The rear sight is a flip-up ladder sight marked from 2-8 with a small notch full buckhorn sight when the ladder is folded down. Both front and rear sights are dovetailed into the barrel.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is a two piece smooth “Fancy” walnut. The buttstock is a straight hand, long tang, straight comb, and has a case colored smooth buttplate. The handguard features a rounded tip smooth forend. The wood on the stock has one small line on the right side rear of the stock . The color case hardened buttplate has no wear. The LOP measures 14? from the front trigger to the back of the buttplate. The forend shows several small lines just in front of the receiver. The Furniture rates in Excellent to Like New overall condition.

Type of Finish: The barrel is matte black and the receiver, lever, buttplate, tang and hammer, barrel band, saddle bar and ring are all color case hardened.

Finish Originality: All Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is almost no handling wear or wear from use on this rifle. The screw heads are undamaged and sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent to Like New condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
