Serial Number: The original serial number has a two-character prefix that looks like “PK” followed by “8108”. The importer-added serial number is “CCCP62150”.

Markings: The import mark on the receiver reads “SKS 7.62 X 39 / CDI SWAN VT”, “MADE IN RUSSIA”, “CCCP62150”. The top cover is marked with a diamond, the Tula Arsenal symbol “arrow in a star” and “1955r”. The “r” stands for “year” in Russian. The original serial number is marked on the left side of the receiver, the top of the bolt carrier, the left of the bolt, the rear of the top cover, the bottom of the trigger guard, the bottom of the magazine, the gas tube (electric pencil), and the left side of the buttstock. The buttstock has another serial marking “X”d out and “55” in circle. The barrel shank and other metal parts are marked with various small proofs and Russian stampings.

Barrel Length: Approximately 20 1/2 inches.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is an adjustable, hooded post. The rear sight is a “U” notched sliding sight escalator marked from “1 – 10” and “n”.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The two piece smooth wood stock has a pistol grip, finger grooves, scallop for the safety, metal nose cap, cutout for the included folding bayonet, hole for the included cleaning rod, ventilated handguard, through bolts, sling loop (the other is integral to the gas block assembly) and a metal butt plate with a spring loaded door for storage. The buttplate shows minor wear. The wood shows various dings, scrapes & scratches. A few areas of the finish have been dulled by scuffs. The LOP measures 12 ½ inches from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stock rates in about Very Good-Fine overall condition.

Type of Finish: Blue

Finish Originality: There is a patch of discoloration on the top of the dust cover at the markings there which may have been touched-up. The remainder of the finish appears original.

Bore Condition: The chrome-lined bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. There is a patch of discoloration on the top of the dust cover at the markings there which may have been touched-up. There are only a few scattered minor marks and faint operational wear. The screw heads show light use. Many of the markings are deep. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine-plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. The bayonet locks into place correctly. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork& Accessories: This rifle comes with a cleaning kit in the buttstock and a canvas sling.
