Our Assessment: The Izhevsk Arsenal TT-33 Tokarev is one of the most iconic Soviet military pistols of the Second World War. Designed by Fedor Tokarev, the TT-33 combined a simplified Browning-inspired locking system with the high-velocity 7.62×25mm Tokarev cartridge. These pistols served throughout World War II and remained in military service across the Soviet bloc for decades. Wartime Izhevsk-produced examples are particularly desirable among collectors due to their historical significance and relatively limited production compared to later arsenal refurbishments.

This example presents in Very Good overall condition and retains matching slide, frame, and barrel serial numbers. The bore is semi-bright with mostly sharp rifling, though moderate erosion and faint pitting are present, resulting in a 6/10 rating. The metal retains a high percentage of its original finish with scattered handling wear, thinning, oxidation, and freckling consistent with military service and long-term storage. The grips remain in very good condition with only minor wear and a few chipped serration peaks. Included are two magazines, a cleaning rod, and a military-style holster, making this an appealing package for collectors of Soviet military handguns. Altogether, this wartime Tokarev offers strong historical appeal and remains a desirable representative of one of the Soviet Union’s most recognizable sidearms.
