Our Assessment: The Mosin Nagant M91/30 was the primary service rifle of the Soviet Union through the 1930s and into the Second World War. The 91/30 featured a number of improvements over the M91. The hooded front sight enabled easier target acquisition and the rear sight was redesigned to use meters. The 91/30 and its later iterations would serve not only the Soviet Union but many other nations including Hungary, Romania, Finland, and China.
This is an example of an interwar Izhevsk made M91/30 Imported per Mitchel’s Mausers. The chamber marking of “S” in a Circle indicated to us that it’s a real sniper; not a fake. The number on the left side of the barrel shank and the scope match. ((https://www.m9130.info/pu-snipers)
The stock has minimal wear to the finish, and is still in nice shape considering when it was made. The bore on this rifle is in very good shape and should make for an effective shooter. This would make a fantastic addition to any Mosin collection. So bid high and bid firm. I highly encourage you to take a look at the condition in our high quality photos. Good luck on your bid. -K.F.
