Our Assessment: This consecutive serial numbered pair of Ruger Vaquero revolvers represents a highly attractive modern interpretation of the classic frontier-style single-action revolver. Built by Sturm, Ruger & Co., the Vaquero series combined the appearance and handling characteristics of traditional western sixguns with modern manufacturing methods and the strength of Ruger’s robust single-action platform. Chambered in .357 Magnum, one of the most versatile revolver cartridges ever developed, these revolvers offered the ability to fire both full-power magnum loads and lighter .38 Special ammunition while maintaining the classic styling associated with Old West revolvers. Consecutive serial numbered revolver pairs are increasingly desirable due to their rarity and collector appeal. Both revolvers remain in excellent overall condition, each retaining approximately 99% of their original polished stainless finish with only faint handling wear and light cylinder turn lines visible from operation. The bores remain excellent, showing bright surfaces and sharp rifling with only minimal fouling present, supporting their 9.5 out of 10 ratings. The faux ivory grip panels remain in excellent condition on both revolvers with no visible structural damage present, and the included Hogue Kyranite grip sets provide additional customization options. The pair also includes the original Ruger hard case, paperwork, and accessories, further enhancing overall completeness and presentation.

Altogether, this matching consecutive serial numbered Ruger Vaquero set represents a highly desirable pair of modern single-action revolvers combining classic western styling with Ruger durability and modern construction. Their polished stainless finish, faux ivory grips, and consecutive numbering create an especially striking collector presentation. The revolvers stand as strong examples of Ruger’s highly successful Vaquero series and the enduring popularity of western-style single-action revolvers among shooters and collectors alike. -R.E.
