Sights/Optics: The front sight is a serrated blade with an orange insert dovetailed to the barrel rib. The rear sight is an elevation/windage adjustable square-notch leaf pinned to the top strap.
Stock Configuration and Condition: The grips are two piece smooth dark laminate wood with silver Ruger medallions at their tops. There are a few light handling marks throughout. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips rate in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9.75/10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its original metal finish. The cylinder has a crisp turn line. There are faint handling marks throughout. There are light burn marks on the face of the cylinder and frame. The screw heads are sharp. The pins are unmarred. The markings are clear and legible. Overall, this revolver rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Ruger New Model Super Blackhawk Hunter is a purpose-built hunting revolver that combines the strength of Ruger’s large-frame single-action design with an integral barrel rib machined to accept scope rings. Chambered in .44 Remington Magnum and fitted with a 7.5-inch barrel, the Hunter configuration provides a long sight radius, substantial weight for recoil control, and the ability to mount an optic directly over the bore. Ruger’s New Model transfer-bar action permits the revolver to be safely carried with all six chambers loaded when properly operated, while the adjustable sights and robust stainless-steel construction make it well suited for hunting, field use, and deliberate long-range handgun shooting. This 2017-production example remains in Excellent condition, retaining approximately 99% of its original stainless surface finish. The metal surfaces exhibit only faint handling marks, while the cylinder displays a crisp turn line and light powder staining on the cylinder face and adjacent frame surfaces. The screw heads remain sharp, the pins are unmarred, and the markings are clear and legible. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no visible erosion, rating 9.75/10 in this writer’s opinion. Its smooth dark laminated-wood grip panels retain their silver Ruger medallions and show only a few light handling marks, with no chips or cracks, rating in Excellent condition.
