Our Assessment: The Ruger Redhawk is one of Ruger’s strongest and most respected double-action revolvers, built for serious magnum use and long service life. Chambered in .41 Magnum, this 1988-production example offers a less common and highly regarded cartridge that provides excellent power, accuracy, and field performance while maintaining a loyal following among handgun hunters and revolver enthusiasts. The 7.5-inch barrel gives this revolver an excellent sight radius and added velocity potential, while the factory scope-ring cuts and included rings make it especially well suited for hunting, field carry, and magnum revolver shooting. This example remains in Excellent condition, retaining approximately 99% of its original stainless finish with light burn marks on the cylinder face and a thin, crisp cylinder turn line. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, no visible erosion, and light factory chatter marks, rating 9.5/10. The smooth rosewood grips with silver Ruger medallions remain in Excellent condition with only faint handling marks and no notable wear. The screw heads are sharp, the pins are undamaged, and the markings remain clear. The revolver includes its original Ruger cardboard shipping box, original box, paperwork, scope rings, and spring kit.
For Ruger collectors, handgun hunters, and fans of classic magnum revolvers, this stainless .41 Magnum Redhawk is a desirable find. The .41 Magnum chambering is much less common than .44 Magnum and has long been appreciated by shooters who value its balance of power, shootability, and accuracy. With its long 7.5-inch barrel, high remaining finish, excellent bore, factory scope-ring cuts, original boxes, paperwork, rings, and spring kit, this Redhawk is a strong candidate for collection, field use, or range enjoyment. -R.E.
