Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade attached to a ramped base, the rear sight is a U notch flip up sight dovetailed to the scope mount.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The Mannlicher style two piece checkered Walnut stock has a pistol grip with metal grip cap, fluted straight comb, sling loop, sling stud and rubber buttpad. The checkering is sharp, the stock shows a couple of light handling marks. The LOP measures 13.5” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. This stock rates in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, this bore rates a 10 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99-100% of its metal finish. The metal shows a few light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent, Near New condition.
Mechanics: The action functions Correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle includes its original serial matching box, gun lock, manual, sling loops, and scope rings. The box shows a few minor tears and creases, it remains in Very Good usable condition.
Our Assessment: The Ruger No. 1 is a single-shot rifle produced by the American firearms company, Sturm, Ruger & Co. The rifle is known for its elegant design and high level of accuracy, and has been produced in a variety of calibers over the years. This example is chambered for .405 Winchester and was manufactured in 2003, it is in Excellent overall condition, showing light use. The .405 Winchester (also known as the .405 WCF) is a centerfire rifle cartridge introduced in 1904 for the Winchester 1895 lever-action rifle. It remains to this day one of the most powerful rimmed cartridge designed specifically for lever-action rifles; the only modern lever action cartridges that exceed its performance are the .50 Alaskan, .450 Alaskan, .475 Turnbull, .348 Turnbull, and the .450 Marlin. The .405 was highly regarded by U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt during his safari in East Africa.
When the Ruger No. 1 is chambered in .308 Winchester, it becomes a reliable and powerful hunting rifle. The .308 Winchester is a smokeless powder rimless bottlenecked rifle cartridge widely used for hunting, target shooting, police, military, and personal protection applications globally. It is similar, but not identical, to the 7.62×51mm NATO cartridge. This example is the uncommon Ruger No.1 International, with stainless finish, 20” barrel, checkered Walnut Mannlicher style stock and comes complete in box with manual, scope rings and sling loops. The Ruger No.1 single-shot design allows for more precise shot placement, while the accuracy of the cartridge makes it suitable for hunting large game (perfect for Safari hunts!). This Ruger is in great shape, showing little to no use. We do not see these very often, so if you are into hunting or target shooting, this Ruger No.1 International is a must have!
