Our Assessment: The Ruger No. 1 is a legendary single-shot rifle known for its accuracy, strength, and timeless aesthetics. Designed with a strong falling-block action, this rifle is capable of handling powerful cartridges like the 7mm Remington Magnum, making it an excellent choice for big-game hunting. The lack of a traditional magazine results in a streamlined profile, reducing weight and increasing maneuverability in the field.
This example is chambered in the versatile and high-performance 7mm Remington Magnum, a caliber well-suited for long-range shooting and hunting applications. The addition of a high-quality Leupold Vari-X III 3.5-10x40mm scope further enhances its precision, making it an excellent package for both collectors and serious hunters alike.
For collectors, the Ruger No. 1 remains a staple in the world of fine single-shot rifles, and this well-maintained example, complete with a premium optic and accessories, would make an excellent addition to any collection or a trusted companion in the hunting field.
