Sights / Optics: The front sight is a fixed blade attached to the barrel, the rear sight is a square notch and groove integral to the top strap.
Stock Configuration & Condition: For both revolvers: The grips are two piece checkered black polymer with Ruger logo on each panel. The grips show light handling and storage marks. There are a few scattered scratches, nicks, and scuffs. The grips rate in about Very Good overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright, the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bores. In this writer’s opinion, these bores rates about 9 or 9.5 out of 10.
Overall Condition: These revolvers retain about 98% of their metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light wear from handling and storage. There is a turn line through the finish on each cylinder. There are a few minor scuffs, nicks and scratches. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, these revolvers rate in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The actions function correctly. The cylinders lock with a little play on each chamber. We did not fire these firearms. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Each Vaquero includes its original serial matching box, lock, test fire round, manual and other paperwork.
Our Assessment: The Ruger New Vaquero revolver was first introduced in 2005 and is a single-action revolver manufactured by Sturm, Ruger & Co. The New Vaquero is designed to resemble the original Colt revolvers of the Old West era while incorporating modern features and materials. The New Vaquero is available in various calibers, including .357 Magnum, .45 Colt, and .44-40 Winchester. The New Vaquero has a steel frame, which provides strength and durability. Ruger incorporates modern safety features into the New Vaquero, such as a transfer bar mechanism, which prevents the firing pin from striking the primer unless the trigger is fully depressed. This enhances safety and allows the revolver to be safely carried with all six chambers loaded.
This pair of New Vaqueros were manufactured in 2008, these single action revolvers have seen light use, both are in Excellent overall condition. These 6 shot stainless steel revolvers have 3 ¾” inch barrels and are chambered for .45 Colt. These Ruger Revolvers both have a transfer bar safety system, which allows the revolver to be safely carried with all six chambers loaded. The transfer bar prevents the hammer from striking the firing pin unless the trigger is fully pulled to the rear. These New Vaqueros have nice bores and well preserved checkered grips. The Vaquero offers modern manufacturing techniques and materials while maintaining the nostalgic appeal of the Old West revolvers.
