Markings: The right side of the frame is marked “37-97840”. The left side of the frame “RUGER .357 MAGNUM CAL. NEW MODEL BLACKHAWK”. The underside of the barrel is marked with the Ruger Newport address and a safety warning. The cylinder is marked “S” on the back face with a Bisley scene around the cylinder.

Sights/Optics: The front sight is a black serrated ramped blade fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a black square-notch leaf in a base pinned to the top strap and is adjustable for elevation and windage. There is nail polish on the sights.

Stock Configuration and Condition: The grips are two-piece smooth wood panels with silver Ruger medallions at the top. There are some light small scratches throughout. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips rate in Very Good condition.

Cylinders: One 6rd .357 Magnum non-fluted cylinder.

Bore Condition: The bore is Very Bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. There is a thin turn line on the cylinder. The hammer has light patina and drag lines from use. There is faint thinning at the leading edges. The screw heads are sharp and the pins undamaged. The markings are clear Overall, this pistol is in Very Good to Excellent Condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder locks up with light side to side play. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards. This revolver sports a wide Bisley style hammer spur and Bisley style grip frame.
