Sights / Optics: The front sight is a green fiber optic rod, screwed to the barrel. The rear sight is a ghost ring mounted at the rear of a 10″ picatinny rail screwed to the top of the barrel and receiver.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two piece checkered gray laminate with semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb, rubber buttpad, capped forend, sling studs front and rear, and a Marlin Bullseye in the belly of the buttstock. There is little to no handling wear. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 1/2″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stocks rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows little to no handling or operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent – Like New condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The hammer has a half-cock safety and a cross bolt safety. The trigger is crisp. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with its factory box, owner’s manual, a leather Original Power buttstock cover in Excellent condition.
Our Assessment: The Marlin Model 1894 traces its lineage to the company’s late-19th-century pistol-caliber lever actions, refining the earlier Model 1889 into the compact, side-ejecting action that became one of Marlin’s enduring designs. After Ruger acquired the Marlin brand, tooling, and intellectual property, production was reestablished at Mayodan, North Carolina, with the Ruger-made Model 1894 returning in .44 Remington Magnum in 2023. The 1894 SBL followed in 2024, combining the traditional short-action lever rifle with stainless construction, gray laminate furniture, an oversized lever loop, modern ghost-ring sights, a Picatinny optics rail, and a short threaded barrel.
This 2024 Model 70432 is an exceptionally clean example, retaining approximately 99% of its original finish with excellent laminate stocks, a bright 10/10 bore, and a correctly functioning action. The compact 16.1″ barrel, stainless construction, fiber-optic/tritium front sight, adjustable ghost-ring rear sight, and optics rail give the SBL a distinctly modern character while preserving the handling qualities that have made the Model 1894 popular for more than a century. Its RM-prefix serial number identifies it as Ruger manufacture, and the factory box, paperwork, and included leather buttstock cover add to an already very complete package. This is a particularly attractive example of Ruger’s modern interpretation of the classic Marlin pistol-caliber lever gun.
